Wingaersheek Cottage

Gloucester, MA

Transformed from a one-story 1950’s IM-Pei-attributed plywood beach house to a shingle style cottage, this waterfront destination underwent two separate renovations. The first involved a mostly glass addition on the east side, followed by a comprehensive remodel including a second floor-addition. With stunning vistas and liberal ocean access, this now year-round coastal home is designed with a durable building envelope intended to withstand exposure to moisture-fraught air, bright sunlight, strong winds and saltwater corrosion.
