The Rocks

Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA

This historic estate was originally designed and constructed in 1903 by Edmund Wheelwright as a summer retreat for Eben Jordan. Over the years, the house was extensively and insensitively remodeled until the only remaining original elements were portions of the Great Hall, Parlor, and Billiards Room. Catalano’s design focused on recreating the character and grandeur of the original house while appropriately adapting the plan to a contemporary program based on current lifestyle requirements.
