Dunes Edge

Osterville, MA

Perched on a dramatic, private waterfront site at the mouth of West Bay, this contemporary interpretation of a New England shingle-style home blends natural coastal materials—cedar shingles, stone, and custom wood detailing—with clean, modern lines to create a refined yet relaxed multigenerational retreat. The symmetrical entry façade is anchored by a turreted stair tower, while distinctive bow-roof forms appear in the massing to soften transitions and frame key coastal views. Designed to embrace panoramic vistas while withstanding floodplain restraints, the home balances open gathering spaces with quiet retreats. Custom features—including handmade glass sidelites, a sculptural three-story spiral stair, and a roof deck with sweeping 360-degree views—reflect a design approach both resilient and deeply personal.
