Crow Point
Hingham, MA
Set on a narrow parcel in Hingham with street frontage on three sides, this new home reimagines family living within tight suburban constraints. Built on an inherited foundation, the design maximizes volume through layered massing, modulated rooflines, and a restrained street presence. The design opens dramatically at the rear façade, connecting interior spaces to a terraced landscape and pool – blurring boundaries between inside and out. A reinterpretation of the coastal shingle style, the architecture balances tradition and refinement with expressive detailing and material richness including flared eaves, hand-cut shingles, and a dramatic gambrel roof. Inside, a sculptural stair anchors light-filled living spaces, unified by custom millwork and chevron-patterned flooring, fostering vertical continuity, circulation, and flow. Crafted in response to the loss of the initial family home, the residence reflects quiet transformation and resilience.
