West Bay Residence
This house is situated in a neighborhood of seasonal houses. The project was originally comissioned by one family, but later completed for a second owner. The house is organized with a traditional butterfly plan, with all rooms oriented to take advantage of the views of both East Bay and the sun to the South. A swimming pool and formal garden, along with a poolhouse and shade pergola, are located on a raised portion of the site. An axial vista runs from the screened living room through the garden to the poolhouse. The interiors of the house are rendered in the traditional vernacular of summer shingle style houses. All of the first floor rooms open onto a waterside terrace that leads to a dock and the water.
