Hopkinton Hills Residence
This house is set on a large tract in Eastern Massachusetts. The house is approached via a long drive that leads into a formal entry court. The main house takes advantage of a sloping view towards Whitehall Lake to the west. The formal entrance is centered on the courtyard while the family entrance is through the porch connected to the porté cochere. All of the principle rooms face the lake. The lower level contains an indoor pool, exercise facility, theater, and pub. The lower rooms open onto a lower terrace that is connected to the main level terrace via an exterior stair. The house is rendered in materials typical of the New England vernacular: Fieldstone, clapboards, shingles, and a Vermont slate roof.
