Set in a rolling meadow, this house is a contemporary interpretation of a classic garden villa. The house is approached via an allée of maple trees which lead first onto a formal arrival court and later into a service yard for the owner’s vehicles. The house is of the landscape using a palette of limestone, stucco, and lead-coated copper both on the structure and in the landscape elements. A two-story entry façade frames the courtyard to the north, while the site slopes to the south allowing for a three-story garden elevation. A side courtyard contains the pool area. The pool is framed by a series of garden terraces and a cascading water feature. The lower level of the house opens to the garden and pool level and contains an indoor/outdoor grotto space.
