Our firm recently prepared a design proposal for a Back Bay office renovation for a product development firm. Our design strategy focused on creating as much volume as possible within the existing small office.
Our design calls for removing the acoustic ceiling tile, exposing the deck structure and ductwork, and painting everything white for maximum light reflective value. New linear LED strip lights are suspended in a random pattern to create visual interest on the ceiling. To separate the conference room from the work area, we suggest an all glass partition/sliding door system which maximizes natural light transmission and makes the perception of the available space as expansive as possible. The entry area is defined by a feature wall with the company name and logo laser cut into a steel plate against a textured wall covering.
Below you'll find renderings and the floorplan for Catalano's proposed design alongside photos of the existing office space.
